Within the framework of the Marie-Curie Fellowship and the PhD studies, I worked half a year in England, in order to learn the National Grid Model. This model is a scheduling model, capable of modelling the processes in a dispatch centre at a utility. It calculates the financial result in dependency of the spinning reserve parameter and optimises the spinning reserve for minimum fossil fuel cost for the utility.
